A Wrinkle in Time: Chapter 6

Spoilers.

The location of their father has been found, through the help of the Happy Medium, the one who sees all through her crystal ball. They also see however, that the darkness shadows Earth, and threatens to engulf it if nothing is done. For this reason, as well as finding their father, the three children now go into Camazotz, a world that has already been taken by the darkness and the place where their father is. Armed with only 2 warnings and one gift, the children push forward, into a city where everything is controlled by a single being.

Really exciting part, I couldn't put the book down till I was practically finished, but I'll only do one post for now. New reasons for banning this book has come forth, such as the evil force threatening to take over all of Earth and a city where everything that is ever done and everyone that lives there is under the command of a supreme being. This part was quite discomforting to me, as I like to place myself in other people's positions, and living in that town was really not the best place to be. Everything is done at the same time, to the second, even playing, the children's jumping rope touches the ground at the same time as everyone else's and everyone is doing the same activity. Really creeped me out. It was also interesting to see a Shakespearean quote used from The Tempest as a warning/gift for one of the children, guess it must mean the author likes Shakespeare a lot.

It's interesting how books that touches the topic of "evil", or if it creates a profound world that reflects our own soceity, are banned. From reading your post, A Wrinkle In Time seems like a really interesting book, I never finished it, but would like to finish it one day.
