A Wrinkle in Time: Chapter 5
The term tesser has finally been explained, with pictures making it very easy to understand, but of course, with no explanation on how it is done. Basically, tessering is wrinkling (hence the book title) and it works on the concept that the shortest distance is not a straight line. For example, if a person was to cross a bridge, it would have to walk the whole distance of the bridge. Tessering however, brings the 2 cliffs the bridge is on together, making travel to the other side instantaneous. I find this a really fascinating concept and I started thinking deeply about it, wondering if it would actually work in real life. Could this be the reason why the book was banned?
