A Wrinkle in Time: Chapter 1

As the book beings, we are introduced to a young girl named Meg Murry, who is the daughter of two brilliant scientists, but her grades are low and gets in to fights easily, more so when one day her father mysteriously vanishes. Charles Wallace, brother of Meg, rarely talks to anyone, but is very intelligent. On a stormy night, when Meg Charles and their mother was in the kitchen having a midnight snack, a strange visitor arrives, and it turns out to be Mrs. Whatsit, a strange old lady who Charles had met earlier that week. Upon leaving she mentions a tesseract, and Mrs. Murry turns white with shock.

So far, the book is fairly decent, and gives no reason to be banned, besides Meg being a delinquent and her father's disappearance. Judging by the title however, time travel seems to be part of the story and the very idea of time travel might have caused it to be banned.
